Candra grwe up in Walters and graduated from Walters High School in 1975. She received her BA in Speech/Theatre/English from Southwester State University in 1979. She taught school at Walters Public Schools for 44 years. She and Husband Danny were married in 1978 and raised two sons, David (wife Melinda) and Trent (wife Kendi). They have four granddaughters: Peyton, Reese, Cheslee, and Reagan. Her favorite Bible verse is Psalm 46:10 "Be still and know that I am God."  Her favorite chapter is Philippians 4. Candra enjoys spending time with her family, reading, gardening, and serving at FBC Walters.
